The Opportunity
Newlands Group is partnering with a growing organization to hire an Accounting Manager.
This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys both managing day-to-day financial operations and contributing to month-end reporting, analysis, and process improvements. You will play a key role in supporting financial accuracy, team leadership, and overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements
- Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement review
- Prepare supporting schedules and journal entries
- Analyze financial results and provide insights on trends and variances
Operations & Oversight
- Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and inventory
- Monitor spending levels and identify financial trends or risks
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities
- Support consolidation processes to ensure accurate and consistent reporting
Cash Flow & Compliance
- Monitor cash balances and support cash flow forecasting
- Assist with banking requirements, including debt covenant reporting
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements
- Support audit processes and liaise with external stakeholders as needed
Leadership & Team Management
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the accounting team
- Assist with performance management, training, and development of staff
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation or actively working toward CPA (required)
- 3–6+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
- Experience with multi-entity and/or multi-currency environments is an asset
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
