Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Waste Collector to join our waste management team. This role involves collecting and transporting waste from residential, commercial areas to designated disposal sites. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, capable of handling heavy loads, and comfortable operating a vehicle for extended periods. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to community cleanliness and environmental sustainability through efficient waste collection.
Duties
- Safely operate garbage trucks according to traffic laws and company policies
- Collect waste from designated bins at various locations
- Ensure proper loading and securement of waste to prevent spillage during transit
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accurate records of collections and route completion
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
- Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of vehicles as needed
Requirements
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly throughout the workday (50–75 pounds)
- Valid full G driver’s license with a clean driving record
- At least 2 years minimum experience driving a heavy vehicle
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow directions accurately
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are essential
- Prior experience in waste collection is a plus but not mandatory
