General Description:

A forklift operator is generally responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, and organizing materials within warehouses or industrial sites to keep operations running efficiently. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning steel waste bins in a high paced environment.
  • Safe operation of a forklift
  • Dry mops, wet mops (wash/scrub). The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with manual or power scrubbing equipment.
  • Maintains and conducts preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of area and equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude required
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing food production environment
  • Wear employer-specified protective gear, including two pairs of gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc.
  • Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear)
  • Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during extended periods of time.
  • Follow all Health and Safety guidelines established by spec for this position.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Required to work in an environment that is hot, wet & humid.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma,
  • Attention to detail.
  • Food industry experience and knowledge of cleaning in a food plant environment.
  • Previous Forklift Experience.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral, are required.
